AKILA sunglasses is an independent eyewear brand based in downtown Los Angeles focused on handmade unisex sunglasses at anti-industry pricing. All of AKILA's frames are handcrafted from plant-based acetate and stainless steel with Optical Class 1 lenses. Every silhouette goes through meticulous design, engineering and production processes to ensure it's second-to-none quality. Every pair of sunglasses takes over 90 days to manufacture and requires almost 100 processes from start to finish! Akila Eyewear frames are made from the best cellulose acetate providers in the world (usually Mazzucchelli, but we don't like to box ourselves in)— an eco-friendly alternative to petroleum based plastics. Acetate also allows for richer and more unique colors than traditional plastic. The optical-quality lenses are thick and scratch-resistant making them more durable, and of course block 100% of UVA / UVB to keep your eyes protected for years to come.
